Map data update

 

GENERATION 7 SATNAV UPDATE:

Anyone have problem creating the b/up as first part of process?
Screenshot shows backup COMPLETE, but later see error message.

Had same issue with last UPDATE in March; shame MAZDA's supplier [TELENAV], can't just offer UK map; I don't need EU maps, or [especially]
Russia! Currently whole process takes around 8 hours; crazy.
I started this @ 0930, and this shot shows map update files still in process at 5pm

 

A watched kettle never boils ;-)
It took 4 hours on my computer to complete the European update.

Why your backup doesn't complete without errors is difficult to say because of a lack of information.
There should be a reason...
Did you have enough space on the destination for the back-up?

 

Yes plenty of spare capacity; previously reported to MAZDA UK who always refer me to Mazda Hands Free Dept. in Leverkusen;
however, they always respond to me & MUK that they don't handle Gen 7 satnav issues.
And the map suppliers TELENAV refuse to support enquiries saying Mazda insist all dealt with by them.....or not!

 

I reread our discussion about updating the maps in March.
Since the majority of Mazda owners hasn't had any technical issues updating the maps, it seems the problem might be with your computer or a faulty SD card.
Have you asked your dealer if they could try updating the maps on your SD card?
It seems to me that if they can't do it either, this could be a warranty case.

 

After all the hassle, the maps do get updated; far more onerous than previous map types offered by MAZDA.
