Default Lost key, coding new key Engine cranks but won’t start

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my 2016 Mazda CX-5 2.2 Diesel 150 HP, FWD.

Two weeks ago, I lost my only car key. I called a specialist who tried to program a new key, but had a lot of trouble with it. In the end, he managed to program a universal key, but couldn’t get an original Mazda key to work. He said everything seemed fine on his end, and left me with the universal key so I could at least check the engine.

The engine cranks but doesn’t start.

I hooked it up to FORScan and got the following fault codes:
  • P1260: -2F
  • B13D3:4A-8A
  • B13D3:97-8A
  • B13D3:94-0A

Before losing the key, the car started and drove perfectly fine.
Has anyone experienced something like this? Any suggestions on where to start?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Contact a Mazda dealer for help.

WHEN programming new key, all keys must be programmed at same time. Besides a dealer,
a good mobile auto electrician could sort.

The "Specialist" clearly isn't special enough.

I would recommend booking it in with your local Mazda dealership.
