I've got a 3 week old CX5 and tried to update car's SD Card, via my PC.
MAZDA TOOLBOX refuses to see SD on either a WINDOWS 10 OR 11 PC.
Very frustrating; problem seems commonplace.

  • Did you download and install the toolbox from https://mazda.update-mapnavi.com/?
  • Is the SD card a genuine Mazda Navigation SD card or from Amazon?
  • Is the number (for example KMV6 66EZ1) on the SD card the same as one of the numbers on the website?

  • Does the navigation works in the car?
  • Have you driven the car far enough (100 km or 60 miles) to link the Nav SD card to the car's VIN number?
  • Is the number (for example KMV6 66EZ1) on the SD card the same as one of the numbers on the website?

296 miles driven

DISASTER:
Windows, when it sees CARD, says it needs to be "SCANNED/ FIXED"
Being fairly IT savvy, I naturally declined; others may not.
Having failed to update, gave up.

On returning SD to car's slot, now not recognised; off to Dealer next week.

[The TOOLBOX also says car's navigation must be on; clearly nonsense, as car navigation
won't work with no SD!!]

  • You have the same SD card number as I have in the Netherlands.
  • You have driven the car far enough.
  • The card is not "locked".
  • You are using the new Mazda Toolbox as downloaded from https://mazda.update-mapnavi.com/
When I first put my SD card in my Win 10 PC in 2023, it complained about a problem with the SD card.
I did not repair it, but just used Toolbox and it updated without any problems.
Later I had Windows repaired (scanned and repaired) the card and it still worked in the car and has been updated many times since then.

I'm out of options :-(
A return to the dealer is indeed all that remains.

Thanks; also in contact with MAZDA SAT NAV SUPPORT in Germany. They asked if I'd logged into
the TOOLBOX, but of course it isn't allowed if no SD card is seen.
Hopefully dealer can sort card out with their diagnostics.

In the latest infotainment version of the Mazda Toolbox you do not have to login en therefore you do not need a login account.

I also reached out to MAZDA HANDS FREE SUPPORT; staggered at response.
I have the 11" screen incidentally.
