Default Nav volume = Android Auto volume

2019 CX-5 GT Premium. I have never liked audible turn by turn from any sat nav system, so I of course turned the guidance volume to zero. (Voice is especially not necessary with the Active Display!)

HOWEVER, it appears that the guidance volume setting is identical to the Android Auto voice prompt setting. Dialing one up or down dials the other. Thus, if guidance volume is at zero, I can't hear Android Auto prompt me - and if I turn Android Auto up while it's reading me a text, then my turn by turn volume is suddenly not only back on but annoyingly loud.

Has anyone found a solution or workaround to this? Alternatively, am I the only one who's ever noticed this/am I doing something wrong?
