Loss of power SCBS and DSC Malfunction after stop
2018 Madza CX-5 Loss of power Stopping at traffic light
Unfortunately I am experiencing a rather strange and random issue on my 2018 Mazda Cx-5 (61,000 km) with the smart braking light and loss of power.
After driving for about 30 minutes I got off the highway and stopped at traffic light. When the light changed I released the brake and tried to accelerate but my car would not produce torque. The smart city braking light appeared on my car.
After driving the car 3 more times without issue the issue came back. Again the issue occurred after sitting at a stoplight. I could not move snd again this was present with SCBS malfunction light.
My 12V battery was old so I replaced it and the issue is still present.

thanks for the reply.
I connected a multi meter to the battery and drove around observing the voltage for about 30 minutes and did not see anything abnormal.
The new battery tested out well.

If all you did was attach a VOM then you don’t really know if the battery is good or bad. Only by load testing the battery can you know for certain. In the US you can take your CX to an auto parts store like Autozone who will load test it for free. The battery might be fine, but new batteries which test badly are not unheard of. Good luck!

We also tested the battery during engine crank as well. But I can double check at a parts store.
Another strange thing I noticed on one ocassion I felt a harsh shift between 1st and 2nd. But no codes were stored unfortunately.
