Question How to use brake autohold button??

I have a new CX-5 Touring. The book says you can push Autohold and take your foot off the brake, then when you press the accelerator it will release. But when I did that, the Autohold stayed lit, making me concerned the brakes were still engaged. When I pressed Autohold again it wouldn't go off. Apparently this button works similarly to cruise control? Is that how you're using it, just leaving it on and it only engages the brakes when you're at a full stop? I'm afraid to use it now since I don't know what it's doing when.

That's how the owner's manual (page 4-80) reads to me. There's a procedure for turning AH on and off. Have you read it?

Not in the owner's manual yet, just in the Start Manual. Will definitely read the owner's manual before trying it again! But here in the Seattle area with all the hills it could be very useful
