Hood release lever

Default Hood release lever
I have a 2013 CX-5 & the hood release lever is not popping open the hood. Any suggestions on how to get it open?

Not enough information. Is there sound from the hood latch when you pull on the lever? Can you tell if the release cable is still attached to the lever?

There is no sound that indicated the hood has opened. The cable is still attached.
