I need to get those struts. I open my hood every time I wash the car to dry everything off. I like how Nissan did the prop rod on the Frontier as it is off to the right side. Not in the way at all. I have never seen another one like it.

 

My 1979 Limited Edition MGB (215 v-8 conversion) had self triggering locking bonnet hinges. IMHO even for their antiqueness they are waaaaaaay better then a rod and even struts. But they were sorta fugly looking in simplicity.

 

Yep, those are the two sockets you need for the job: regular 12mm and deep 13mm.

Ha! The Chinese struts that I ordered off Amazon on March 18th just showed up today!

 

Did you get instructions with the Chinese struts? If not, I'd be happy to scan the great Redwing instructions that came with mine and post 'em here.

LOL I already have the Redline ones installed. I canceled this order before I got those and they still came anyway.
