Has anyone had experience with the CPLAY2wireless adapter?
Are you saying not having factory wireless CP is a deciding factor on buying your next car?
I thought it was kind of gimmicky before I actually rented a car a couple months ago that had both wireless cp and charging. It was super convenient. I missed it when I went back to my wired car, especially when I realized I had another bad lighting cable that needed replacing. (I must be hard on cables. I seem to wear them out every 3-4 months when I'm in the car a lot.) I also keep reading how the phone manufacturers are trying to get away from having ports and move to wireless only. It would be nice to have some protection from that in the future.
Did they update it yet? Just curious if you got it working.
The support person asked for me to wait about a week until the next firmware release. I asked explicitly if the developers are working specifically on compatibility with Mazda but she skillfully avoided answering by saying, "...your specific issue has been forwarded to our engineers for fixing."
Once I get the next firmware version and have tried it I'll post an update. If this next update does not fix it, I'm returning it.

The update process on my PC did not work. It just hung there. They then told me to connect it to the car and update it through the iPhone. There the message is that I already have the latest version.
My impression of this company is that they don't really know how to test or how to handle customers. I got the impression that the CSR was just saying what ever she had to so that I wouldn't ask to return it. Kept saying there's a new update coming soon and when I kept asking when it would be out, it somehow miraculously just happened to be released right then! Of course, it wasn't a new update but just the same as before.
So I told them that this obviously is not working with our Mazda and they now expect for me to pay for return shipping AND they may charge me a $25 restocking fee! I really doubt they'll demand this fee but to even ask for me to pay for return shipping is ridiculous.
What's funny is that I explicitly asked before I bought it if this would work in our specific model. The reply was, "Does your Mazda has a factory carplay? If yes, then our adapter works with your car! 👍🏼"
I bought it because of this. Today she now says, "There are many factors that play in the role of compatibility, for example, the same Mazda is equipped with different head unit types, then there come different Mazda models with different head unit settings (which was designed for particular model). We can't track all those changes in real-time."
So when it's to get the sale they tell me it will work. Later when it's not working, then they say that it may not.
I'm still dealing with them over the return postage issue.
What I also noticed is that it doesn't have any warranty. The website doesn't state any warranty nor is there anything included in the packaging. So the only real warranty is the implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
At this time, I would suggest that people avoid this company. Even though it sounds like the device does work well in some cars, if it doesn't work in your particular car, it'll still cost you time and money all for nothing. And asking them in advance about your exact setup is useless.
I'll post updates as they happen.

That's a bummer. It's a good concept but it sounds like the product is still half baked. As a software guy I understand it's hard to get it to work with everything but man it seems so hit and miss with these things cars of the same year, make, and model can vary.
