Mazda has stuck with the 6 speed trans and internal combustion engine to be able to survive until it goes full on electric . Even Toyota that is the worlds largest and best selling Auto manufacturer is going in that direction . IMHO in 5 or 6 years 80% of all new vehicles will be electric . And the price of fuel will be dramatically increased by the powers that be to further aid in the demise of the internal combustion engine and fossil fuels to force the issue. I for one will be sad to see the internal combustion go . But the electric vehicles are much faster , and will require less maintenance .
Well I agree but not in your time line.
And as electric becomes more reliable and avalible I see gasoline prices dropping not increasing. But we can speculate things like that all day long.
The biggest proble with EV is the battery technology is at least a decade behind. I see many Tesla failing n a couple of year right after their warranty runs out. LOL
But that is my opinion and we will just have to se what happens?
However lets look at solar panel technology and it big short coming that are not generally published!!!!
I dont read and believe much of the most easily available internet information but dig deep to find the base line empirical data and information. It takes time and patients and not getting discourage when the information door get closed. You simply have to start over and find another path. So anymore when I really want to learn something I use an old laptop and go to a Star Bucks get a cup of coffee and use their internet. LOL

I tried out a Kia EV6 GT last week, all electric with 576 HP.
All I can say is I wished I'd had diapers on when I hit the accelerator.

Not a fan of Starbucks coffee, and dont trust open public WI FI connections. Dinosaurs didn't become extinct over night, and some like the Alligator are still around . There is a war on fossil fuel ,and majority of greenies in the free world are winning. By raising the cost of fossil fuel they will force us to convert . We will see EV charging stations popping up everywhere very soon . The Gov will promote ,fund, and subside it with our tax dollars . The price of fuel will be how quickly the transition will occur. We will have to decide how much we are willing to spend to keep driving our old combustion engine vehicles B4 we throw in the towel and convert . It's THE GOLDEN RULE and always been all about the $$$$.

The government funded and subsidized sail power then, coal, nuclear, and is still doing so with oil/gas/solar/wind with our tax dollars.
As I've pointed out before most people didn't willingly go from horse & buggy to motor vehicle.
Many of us have personal experience with choking smog, massive, strip-mined coal fields & oil spills and multiple nuclear disasters.
In addition to all the other pollution that came along with it.
Moving on to renewable/cleaner energy is good for our future generations, even if it means dragging us old gas guzzling geezers with it.
The charging stations will rapidly increase while the gas stations will slowly fade away just like us old geezers.

Yes but where and how are we going to get Electricity from ? Wind mills are a joke ,and there are no new Nuclear plants being built ,and solar can't satisfy the country's needs even without the mass use of EV vehicles as it is. Clean energy is going to get very expensive in a hurry.

Nor am I . They don't support and oppose another hobby of my interest. And that is exactly why I choose them with a old laptop to use their internet oh and bathrooms . No trace to the user, if the user is internet stealth savvy!
As for your other comment about fossil fuel, I think you are feeding on to much of the easily sourced information and not the real information. That takes a lot of time spent on the computer with many door shut looking for the true information. Much you can really only find going outside the internet service in the US. If you are one that thinks we are not censored from information better wake up! Sorry for that off topic political comments. You will know when you are close to getting real facts when your screen gets a message as I described earlier.
