Fixed CX-5 windshield defroster issue (poor side defrost) my 3D-printed vent insert
Hi everyone, Im a Mazda CX-5 owner. When freezing temperatures arrive, this model has a known issue the side areas of the windshield defrost poorly. Being a manufacturing engineer (technologist), I decided to solve this problem properly. I designed special add-on inserts for the factory defroster vent. Heres what I did: I digitally modeled the windshield in CAD software, then redirected the airflow angles so that warm air covers the entire windshield evenly. As a result, the frozen side zones are no longer an issue.
Why is it not one piece rather than two? Are you selling these?
Thanks! It consists of two parts, because it is more convenient for delivery (less risk of breakage) and for the printer, since the work surface is not so large. I'm from Russia, so I'm looking for an opportunity to collaborate with someone. In Russia, this deflector is very popular and has proven its effectiveness.
