Default Encouragement Needed

Hi. I have never owned a Mazda and I bought the 2017 CX5 Grand Touring today and I am freaking out. We made this purchase really fast. Like it happened in the blink of an eye. We were looking at a used 2016 Lexus NX, saw the 0% financing deal with Mazda and just decided to go with the Mazda. There was another couple looking at the car, so that sort-of spurred us on and now I’m feeling worried that I made a rash decision after looking at cars for months! It’s like something just intervened and pushed me over the edge and now I’m panicked. I’m sure if you’re on the forum, you love your Mazda. Any encouraging words - or words of admonition? Ugh. I don’t know. I clearly don’t do well with large purchases. What did I do? Please tell me why your Mazda is better than a Lexus or why you love it. Thank you in advance for your help!

Take a deep breath or two and relax. Go outside and look at your beautiful new car. Open the door and breathe in that delightful new car smell.

There, don't you feel better?

You have a nice new car, enjoy it and don't second guess your decision.

We just bought a little over a month ago and so far my wife loves hers. We have been ford people for sometime but 3 years ago I went with a toyota tundra when I bought a new truck. And this her first time venturing away from ford. She was really considering the Edge titanium but the cx5 came through. Didn't look at the NX all though it was talked about. If i recall i think the price was what held us back. Conrad gave some good advice. Mazda seems like a good brand and I honestly don't think you should be so worried.

Thank you both. I drove it today and I’m starting to really love it. Now that the panic has worn off, I see that it’s a very nice, sharp looking car. What held me back from the Lexus was the price and lack of features. I’m beginning to see the light!! Thank you so much!!

I bought my 2016 CX-5 after several Outbacks and a Mazda 6. I love the 6, but after back surgery getting in and out of it became an issue. I've had my CX-5 for about a year and a half and and have a little over 30,000 miles. Although it doesn't handle like the 6 did, it handles much better than the four Outbacks I'd had before. No knock against Subaru, but each of them had some issues and the two Mazdas I've owned just seem to be screwed together better. Once your over you're buyer's remorse (we all get it to some degree) I think you'll be a happy Mazda owner.
