Default Electrical issues

I have a 2013 Mazda CX-5. Over the last few months, I've had issues with it starting. Sometimes it doesn't recognize the key fob. Batteries have been replaced multiple times and it still works sometimes. I've tried all the tricks to get it to start... For example, resetting the key fob. Using the key fob against the push to start button. The only thing that has worked is disconnecting the negative charge to the battery and letting it reset the computer that way. I took it to two shops after taking it to the dealership I bought it from and both places say it sounds like a deeper electrical issue and they don't believe replacing the starter will help. I was just wondering if anyone else has had issues like this? And if so, was it a simple fix? Worth fixing or should I trade it in?

How old is the battery? A dying battery can be one cause of your issue, take the CX to an auto parts store like Autozone and have the battery electronically load tested for free. If it fails, get a new battery. Even if your current battery isn’t too old it may still be the cause of your issue. There are other potential causes, but you can diagnose this one for free.

Clean the contacts in the remote with fine emery cloth or sandpaper. Wipe with rubbing alcohol.
BTDT. As said, check the battery. Even good batteries only last 5-6 years, rarely longer.

Default Diagnosis found? I’m having the same issue.

Hello 👋

for your question (copied out below) …did you find the reason for this problem? I am having the same issue.
* I bought a new battery - that didn’t work
* the battery guys tested for the alternator - they said it was iffy, but changing the battery it then tested fine
* I just had an electrical mechanic test for anything draining the battery (I have been disconnecting the battery and making sure I drive it enough to charge it each time I drive)
- the electrical mechanic said it could be the alternator wearing out (that it does around 215ks which is where it is up to)

thank you if you are happy to reply and share what your diagnosis was 🙂
