Electric problem locking steering wheel
CX-5 touring 2016 100K miles
Hi, I am experiencing a problem where the first symptom was loss of electric power causing the fan on the heating system and the headlights to lose power to a point where it was almost zero and then gain power again to normal like in waves, cycling for about 1 second. This is while I am driving on the highway. A few minutes later the engine stop, I coasted to a stop on the side of the road, restart the engine and everything looked normal after that, except the engine light remained on. I should mention while the issue was going on the dash light for the line departure warning system was on. Later on the same day I returned home, the engine light was no longer there, and right before reaching home the problem started again (electric power loss) and after pulling in to the driveway, I notice something new. When I attempted to turn the steering wheel, it would jerk forcefully back to center, I couldn't steer at all. The steering wheel light on dash came on at this moment, along with the engine light. After restarting the engine, everything appears normal again. No more dash lights. I am not driving the car until I figure the problem. Any clues, I am afraid it will be hard to diagnose as it happens randomly.
