Default Drivers seat hard

Hi, Does anyone know how to make the drivers seat side cushions more comfortable?
Can the foam be easily changed for a softer version maybe. Or could the seat covers be softened some how?

I am currently using a seat car cusion to make it more comfortable. Not helping much though.

Many Thanks

Some info like the year and trim would help for reference. Generally these seats are a little firmer when new, Over time they do get softer and take shape of the driver. My car definitely feels super comfortable after the last couple of years.

Welcome and as Geluk said don't use your email as a user name on this or any forum.

No real option other than a seat cushion you already are using, (which there are many brands and types), or getting a custom seat made/installed that you are "comfortable" sitting in.
Curious as to why you purchased your vehicle if you didn't like the seat?

I went from a 2000 Mazda MPV to my 2021 CX-5. With so many new bells and whistles to focus on, I didn't think about seat comfort when I bought my pre-owned CX-5. At first I was disappointed in the firmness of the driver's seat. Now I've had the car for 2 years and the seat doesn't bother me at all. I work from home and don't drive a lot. I never got a cushion.

Believe it or not, it’s possible to admire the CX-% for all sorts of reasons, test drive it, happily buy it—and only later discover that you and your spouse find the seats not as comfortable as you wish they were.

It certainly is on a short test drive. I have decided to try renting any car I plan to buy in the future through a service like Turo, as you can specify exactly what you rent. What year is your CX-5 and how long have you had it? 22 and up were supposed to have improved seat comfort, although the seat looks identical to the 17-21 versions. You could take your car to an upholstery shop and have them rework the cushions.

I still don't get it.
Personally, when handing out that much cash I make sure it's comfortable for me and my wife.
But to be honest we do that with everything we sit or sleep on, I guess it all depends how wealthy you are to make adjustments after the fact.
Replacing or reworking your seats will be expensive with no guarantee you won't find them uncomfortable later as well

We have a 22 Premium Plus. We didn’t think about the seats when taking the fairly sedate test drive. But, later, when I was driving “spiritedly” my wife complained about the passenger seat being too hard and not holding her from sliding sideways (compared to those in our son’s RAV4, for example.) And, when she drove and I was the passenger, I had to agree. We bought RaoDanTang seat cushions for both seats and this has helped.

Firm seats is a very good thing and are an integral part of the Mazda CX-5 dynamic driving experience. For those that prefer a softer seating Toyota Rav 4 and Honda CR-V have it.
