Not sure why the dealership told you that?
Case in point , in the Mazda service guide your year as well Mazda OEM parts there is no service information to glue or use sealer and there is no sealer or glue in the parts replacement section under door seals, glues or adhesive.

But glad the service person hand a tube of some sealer/glue to satisfy their customer

Btw. We have 3 Mazdas in the shop plus my own that I took the pictures for this thread and none have sealer. And Iam sure that if other members have the same year and model Mazda if they look they won’t find sealer/glue either. In fact if looked at other platforms with in several years they won’t have sealer/glue there either. My two BMW 2002 and 2009 don’t have it just looked .
Now consider this my Mazda is a 2018 yours a 2025 yet I showed pictures clearly not having sealer/glue. Think about all this for at least a minute.
.
,

I an m pretty sure unless the dealer sealed did the other side as well if you go look I am sure you will not find any sealer or glue?

I am a
so willing to suggest that they did this for free and you did not get a complete service invoice so it will not show on VIN history as “the factory forgot to glue it on”!

Yes, who knows what really happened! It may not have been pushed in properly when made, or when we tried to fix it when it popped off twice. They may have just pushed it in properly and said they glued it!

Um read your actual service work order!
I do know what happened and explained it!
My guess would be more that it may have been damage when you accidently dislodged it? But I cant see the physical seal and inspect it carefully.
I will be back in about an hour and will post some pictures for you so you understand better what I am trying to suggest happened.

Its lunch and raining and I see 2 customers not on the schedule just pull in.... ha! Gotta go!

There was no damage to the trim as both times it was a light brush past. The service invoice states that the trim was installed and sealed with weather stripping glue?

yes that would be "THIER" service way to correct the issue and not exactly what you said and as I suspected would NOT be on the service invoice.

I keep both yellow and black weather trim sealer "snot" as we call it for just some customers like you.

Oh I forgot to mention place that service invoice in a file somewhere accessible . It may come in handy should the need to service the cables in the kick panel covers that may now be a PIA to work around a clean service job because of that sealer the dealership used.

"Customers like me" Thanks for your encouraging words! I asked them to fix it, they did. I thought I would convey what ultimately happened. Next time, I'll know what not to do!

Its a new car -- your inside the 3/36 -- My guess is if you have a good rapport with the dealers service dept / try --they will often repair these minor things and not generate an R/O to keep the " reliability score high for Mazda ---Cant hurt -Might help - best

If you read the thread (which sorry to see you often don’t before you respond)it was not a problem having to do with Mazda. Not a covered WARRANTY item .

However the dealership does value their customer and that’s why the service was done for free . I would also venture that it is not in VIN service record either?

As for not generating an RO that goes without saying what the specific policies are at each Mazda dealership and nothing to do with any scoring.
