When checking the fluid level after adding new fluid, the ATF must be at the correct operating temperature, which from memory is between 65°c & 80°c. Engine running in park.

 

The air filter and box doesn't have to be removed when changing the motor oil. So changing the ATF fluid isn't quite as easy as the engine oil...

 

Good time to change the air filter simultaneously.

took off 2 undercovers and got access to trans drain bolt and I can also loosen fill/check port from underneath. I see that the trans pan is removable and also rock auto sells a replacement filter for this vehicle. Has anyone dropped the pan and replaced the filter on this car?
