My 2014 2.0 CX5 iSport makes a humming sound when turning the steering. In other cars I've seen this when the power steering fluid is low, but I understand CX5 has electric assistance and no power fluid.

Am I correct? What can it be then?

Well it’s not the engine I feel like because as the car accelerates the engine will eventually shift to a higher gear and the rpm’s will drop. That noise is consistently going up with speed so it has to do with the steering or wheels. I’ve heard of hub bearings make whining noises before they went out, but I’m not

The OP hasn’t been back to the forum in over 3 weeks, by now he probably doesn’t care what we tell him. Typical newbie wanting a quick answer, not getting it, then not coming back. I do hope he solved his issue.
