Default Rubber mats, CX5 2021?

Hey all,

I'm new both here and to the world of Mazda ownership. I just picked up my first new car (ever), the 2021 Carbon Edition. I've only ever owned used Subarus for the last 20 years or so, and driving this CX 5 turbo is like a dream It's so pleasurable to drive something that prioritizes the driving experience itself.

Anyways, at the dealership, I passed up on the $150+ rubber mats for the floor mats, but I'm thinking maybe I should have gotten those because I'm having a heck of a time finding any after market floor mats that state they will fit 2021 CX5 models. Has the CX5 design changed much over the years? Or am I able to safely buy 2020 rubber floor mats that will fit?

Thanks!

I would think the 2020 version of the Weathertech floor liners will fit without a problem. I do not own a CX-5 yet but the floor of the 2020 and 2021 did not change.

On a side note. Why did you jump from Subi to Mazda?

The actual fitment wouldn't be a problem however, the two rear anchor holes on the front mats have spring-loaded retainers, I don't know if Weathertech is onto this or not.

2020 mats will work fine. I like the Mazda all weather mats, but wish they had protection for the dead pedal. I also recommend you get the cargo mat. It does a great job.

I agree that the Weathertech matts are the way to go. Covers the dead pedal
the side of the gas pedal as well. They have two 'styles' and the lazar measured (?)
ones are the bees knees.
Not cheap but worth every penny.

My 2¢

I just installed a generic cargo mat, with some cutting, in my $2021 CX-30. Price was C$37. Sure beats the price that the dealer & Weathertech was asking (CS130-C$150).

I got the Mazda OEM rubber mats afterwards from Amazon. Apparently a Mazda dealer had listed them there for $109. Not cheap but good quality and perfect fit.

Here is the link if you want to check and ask the seller if it fits the 2021 model year: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075882MKX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pl dnSite=1

Already had this conversation with the parts manager at my dealership. He says any accessories listed for a 2017-2020 will fit a 2021 since the dimensions have not changed, have stayed the same. On that note, I ordered a set of Husky Weatherbeater floorliners for my 2021 GT. Also ordered an aftermarket retractable cargo cover for substantially less than the OEM.

I got the OEM retractable cargo cover from Amazon; it was cheaper than the price my dealer offered. Looks like some dealerships are discounting their OEM parts and sell them through Amazon.

I have a 2021 CX-5 and added the WeatherTech floor trays and cargo mat. They fit just fine. I ordered the slightly higher priced HP versions, but think the regular floor trays would have been just fine.

Also found a Mazda dealer who sells parts online and bought the cargo security cover for $191.71, along with the splash guards for $44.82/each pair, front & rear...they come with instructions and are easy to install with a phillips-head screw driver, a socket set and a metric screw to cinch up the jack screw. BTW, I also ordered some regular maintenance items at the same time too.

Enjoy your new ride.
