CX-5 **Seat Heater Control module?!**
Hi, I have a 2014 CX-5 with heated seats and automated air conditioning. My drivers seat heats at max level with no lowering it, the heating elements seem Ok. Where is the seat heater control module located? Any help is much appreciated. The car is a European model with 2.2 liter diesel.
The pdf I've attached is from "CX-5 Technical Guide Workshop Manual" and is from © 2012 Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa.
It states that "The seat warmer control unit is located on the bottom of the passenger-side front seat." That may change between LHD and RHD models.
Hope this helps.

Thank you very much, did not realize it is on the passenger side, have to go check it out. The (drivers side (I checked) has the big seat control module in it. If it is on the passenger side, how does it control both seat heaters? Usually each seat has its own control module. It is strange that the passenger side works fine but drivers side does not. The diagram shows that both seats are controlled by the same seat warmer control unit so the thermistor in the drivers seat must be wired into that thru a harness. The faulty component could be a thermistor, the control unit, or maybe a wiring issue. I would first try to locate the connectors going to the thermistors on both seats, unplug, check and compare the resistance of both thermistors with an ohmmeter. They should be about the same measured with the seats "cold". If they are not, then the thermistor on the drivers seat is likely faulty.
If you need more details on the wiring (color codes, connector styles, etc.) let me know and I'll dig deeper into my document collection and see what I can find.

Broken cables/wires/plugins are common on older model years.
It might be as simple as unplugging and using some contact cleaner.
I believe some models/trims may require buying the entire seat bottom as some units are molded into the seat itself.
Good luck either way and welcome to the forum.
