Default Canadian 2024 Nav SD card included?

Does anybody know which 2024 Canadian CX-5 models include the Mazda SD card for the default/factory navigation, any, all? Thanks.

OK, lets try this instead. If you purchased a new 2024 CX-5 in Canada, did it come with the navigation SD card, or would you have to buy it from the dealers parts department or aftermarket? Which CX-5 model or trim line was it? Thanks.

I'm not sure about Canada, but in the U.S. it's usually the top trim(s). However, on Amazon we got 2 of the aftermarket Navigation SD cards for our 2021 Touring and Carbon Edition Turbo last year and they both still work perfectly. It was only like $50-$60 for them which is a lot better than the $500+ that the dealer wants. I only got them to have as a backup plan on the cars, plus it was dreadful looking at the screen saying to buy an SD card from the dealer lmao.

In the US, it's only the top Signature trim which gets the card. I would say the same should be true in Canada as well. If you don't get it and want it, as said you can buy a card from Ebay, or Amazon, but it will NOT update so don't be alarmed by this. It still gives you speed limits and stop signs warnings and the nav works fine too.

Yup I tried updating my aftermarket one, but it popped up with the error message that the card was not genuine. I don't care since I can just buy another card in a few years.

I find this whole navigation thing somewhat strange, let me explain. Quite often there are differences between trims on US models and Canadian models (not just with Mazda but all car companies). As such I never assume they are the same, thus my question was specific to purchases of 2024 CX-5 in Canada. If I remember correctly I was told by my sales guy that the Nav card would have to be purchased from the parts department, and in Canada it’s over $500, that’s a good chunk of $$$.

So you can imagine my surprise when I looked in my console of my new 2024 CX-5 (which is not the top line Signature model), and it had the card installed. This was completely unexpected and I wondered why it would be there? I’m pretty sure the Nav card being installed on my car was not a mistake, they don’t just give away $500 parts do they? and yet I was under the impression my car should not come with a Nav card based on what I read about them, reviews of the CX-5’s, and what the dealer told me.

I know about the aftermarket ones, but always try and use OEM type parts first, so obviously I was pleasantly surprised to see this one in my car. In addition, there are many areas where cell phone coverage is limited so the Mazda navigation has that advantage over lets say Google maps. So it has me wondering which Canadian models get the Nav card and which don’t, it seems to be a bit of a grey area?

BTW, how do you update the Mazda navigation card?

Download the "Mazda Toolbox" on your computer and make an account. You insert your SD card and it updates for 3 yrs from purchase.

According to the Mazda Canada build and price site, the CX5 GX, GS and Kuro do not have the card. It is a $652 option. The GT level and up have the card included.
