just got a 2021 cx5 carbon edition. had it a month. apple carplay was working fine until a couple days ago where it all of a sudden won't pop up. cord works, vibrates when phone inserted. Tried to reset by doing "forget this car" in the carplay option in my phone.

Any ideas?

I was having Carplay disconnect issues but cleaning the iPhone's lightning port seems to have fixed it. I was surprised how much lint came out. It wasn't having issues with chargers or syncing to my computer but I suspect Carplay uses more of the pins in the port.

I used a "Doctors Brushpick" toothpick for the cleaning.

 

The CarPlay behavior in this vehicle is a disgrace.

I have had to cancel my SFM subscription because CarPlay cannot interface it and load it into operability. It’s nit an internet connectivity issue because my mapping and other apps all function. But SFM, Pandora, etc,just won’t work with this car.

all things being equal,feature for feature, a lousy comm system doesn’t make the car…but in a close choice with rival comparable brands, I wish I had chosen differently.

 

That's the wonderfulness of a warrenty.
