I traded my 2023 in for a 2025 TODAY -
The big differences which are not actually written anywhere I can detect , are -the power delivery , the suspension, transmission and the interior space up front. Once you open the hood its clearly been altered - and looks like a new intake and noise baffle? from the 21-24== 2,5s - and its much smoother and had an ease of roll on power- thats effortless , even on hills and compared to my broken in 30K 23 - its clearly faster and smoother. The suspension is night and day-- Its so superior in that its not jumpy and had a definitive smooth rebound setup that obviously has been tuned to perfection --- The insulation is far better - Ive had a 22, 23 and now a 25 -- If you have been wanting a CX5 -This is absolutely the most refined and sophisticated with all the previous aspects that made it good - now great - I took delivery with 02 miles and will obviously need to spend more time behind the wheel -- Yet these were major improvments - I noted right away - The overall torque and hp are the same ---but Mazda did something to deliver much more oomph between 0-80 mph unless it has more ....unreported hp and torque ---never had to push it once going up a long 25 mile grade from 4000 ft to 5500 ft -- Anyone else have a 2025 ?--- Like your feedback == Premium Plus N/A -- but wow Mazda has made this vehicle into something VERY special- So glad they didnt stop before this miracle happened -
It seems they retuned the engine , transmission and suspension - which makes sense - because the 2026 CX5 has been redesigned - and they recamped the driveline - suspension 1st - so if you like the looks of the 20-25 Cx5 but want the 26 upgrades - get a 25 - the new images of the 26 dont do much for me - but they may be bogus -
New noise baffle cover - and under - a silver addition with clearly updated intake -4 brass lines going into the engine- originating at the high pressure fuel pump - was not on 21-24 na engines -

Out of curiosity, 22, 23 and now 25? Why? Did you upgrade each time? I leased a '19 GT and then bought a '21 GTR as I wanted the turbo and AWD. I can't imagine the '25 Turbo would be different enough to make we want to trade again. Now that the next gen CX-5 is actually on the roads in spy photos, I will see what they do with it. Hopefully they use the hybrid powertrain from the CX-90, which would be interesting to me.
This "owner" makes these claims each time they lease a new CX-5. The last year that had significant changes was 2022 and I've driven the 23, 24 and 25 and they are no different than the 22. This owner claimed the hood was higher, the cabin space changed, it's laughable. When he went from the 22 to the 23 he claimed the 23 was totally different and the 22 - with the same engine and transmission - making the 22 like a dump truck in comparison. Seems a lot more like a lease management marketing post than genuine perception problems or fables. Here is the last time he wrote the nearly same post going from a 22 to 23.

Great question -- Initally the CE 22 was flashy but had no Bose audio - and I knew I was going to clock far more miles than a lease allowed - So I went to the Premium with Bose and Paddle shifters - fundamentally the same with 19's on both -- After about 2 years and mileage --The buy rate went way down- So I heard the 25 had some of the changes I mentioned - So cut the interest , and went Premium Plus and ventilated seats , etc etc - had me intrigued - so when I opened the hood and it looked like a different engine - The bar was raised on this engine, transmission and suspension --- its been dialed in - very happy -- headsup disp is actually something I like as its off to the left at low brightness and keeps me aware of speed -- no biggie there - Thats is so far --only a few hundred miles --so we shall see-- I will take a pic of the new NA engine compartment - so you can see what happened there !

Interesting. The upgrades make more sense now(not that it matters) all that matters is if you are happy. The engine bay looks a lot more boring. No badges on the engine cover. I like the older cars look better.

Well- uh - yes the silver badge is there --- but the performance proof is undisputable - looks - well - Its beyond belief plat quartz

I guess it could "feel" quicker, but I have not read anywhere that the 25 is any different performance wise. In fact, typically it seems the newer models get slower over the years. Maybe more content so higher weight? I know for sure there is no increase in HP for any of the cars you have had. The 2.5 has been the same since the car was released in 2017 (187hp). Only the turbo had a tiny increase in 22 from 250 to 256 on premium.

Well actually there is info which insinuates that the 25 engine was ( about 10/25 ) mines an 11/25 Hiroshima build ) - is the new X NA and thats why i shot you a pic of the eng compartments major intake changes not seen in the first launch models - Some " people " with Mazda have stated they decided not to announce hp/ torque increase but to mid year release - BMW and many orher underrate the power intentionally - trust me - this is a banshee on roids with 91 - which is reccomended when towing in the OM - im not hammering it to da floor - but after 10k 2 oil change - it will get a workout - no bs here-
It appears what occured - as I showed the just introduced X base NA engine which is VERY different that 21-24 models and early 25 models - Mazda may not have wanted to **** off early buyers of the 25 - when the track smoking X is now being snuck in to the existing model year - late - and trust its amazing - so 26s will have this spec hp/ torque listed - but the 25 just coming in late are - lets say - under the radar beasts - im going to say easily over 200 hp at 50% - -

There is simply no way Mazda would upgrade to a new version of the engine (I think you are suggesting a Skyactiv X ?) Mazda has abandoned the X tech (never released a 2.5 with X technology, only a 2.0) and moved onto the Z now. No Z motors have been released. Why would Mazda possibly put a 200hp version of the 2.5 in the '25 and not advertise it? Makes no sense...
