Default 2025 CX-5 Soul Red paint issue

So I purchased my Soul Red CX-5 prem plus just after Christmas and was able to give it a wash and wax yesterday. I was really shocked and disappointed on the poor quality of the paint job. #1 is all the door jams. They are orange and not red. It's not very noticeable in the shade or shadows but outside in the sun it is REALLY bad. I've had metallic and clearcoat paint on many cars and NEVER saw this problem before. It's like they missed the 2nd coat of paint. #2 is on the front lower bumper there are what looks like fisheyes. I can't tell if it is in the material or the paint but it's ugly and very apparent. Seems like Mazda quality control is missing or on vacation. Has anyone else had issues like this?

I don't want to assume but was this pre-owned or new? You were not clear on that?

You front was repainted...Even the poor picture quality I can see that!

The door jams you would be one of the first I have read on any Mazda forum stating that so cant comment.
As for the negative about quality control not all vehicles on any platform all get inspected and as I already said the door jam is a first.

Take and pull back the door seal, it is a push on seal you can't harm it and clean the area and then compare the door jam with that area and see what if any differences there are. Also is this the same on all 4 door jams? Trick question and i will reserve answer beyond that until you post updated pictures and information.
You may also look at the hatch area and also under the hood and fender areas for the same observance of what you found ?

With my Machine Gray 21 the door jams looked just like the rest of the door and outside, but my rear hatch and under the hood did not have the clear coat. It was more matte, like your photo shows in the door jamb. As Calli said, it could have been repainted.

I hated the trunk not being painted and clear coated so when I welded up the emblem holes I had my friend blow paint on both sides of the truck lid.
My new modded hood I choose black and speckled white zolatone . It’s clean looking easy to clean and help reduce the engine noises a tad. Funny when some see it they alway comment with “ that looks like my old chevy’s trunk color” lol

If you do an Internet search you will find this is a known issue with the soul red color.
From what I can find out the CX-5 the main body is dipped (like most vehicles) while the rest is sprayed.
How paint is applied can affect the color much like the material that is being painted.
The blue color of the paint on my plastic exterior body parts of my CX-5 do not exactly match the blue color on metal parts.

Fish- eye is not caused by any Mazda factory painting process.

My CX-5's Machine Gray was the same with plastic vs metal.

This is just not Mazda that has the paint slight shade differentness between metal, fiberglass and plastic body parts.
This has been happening for a few decades

Some colors don't show it as much. Better quality and experienced Auto body and paint shops can usually during the priming and prep eliminate this, but you also pay for that! It is usually not a warrantable item from most any auto manufacture, but some dealers will still try to match the colors better, but they seldom do not get credit from the auto manufacture.
What your invoice may state indicating a warranty service, but it is how that dealership chooses to write the invoicing up as such is not always what the dealer gets.
FYI its better from you to ask if this will be covered directly with the auto manufactures warranty and if not ask that it just be finalized as general service. This way it will not show on your VIN information which could influence trade in or selling the vehicle independently and the prospective buyer looking at VIN history.

My GUESS in the first picture that the front end was replaced and painted due to a damaged cause on the lot or during dealer transporting the new Mazda (if it were new or even if used) and removed and a new one painted separately as it should be and then installed.

Thanks for all the feedback. This is a new car purchase, it only had 3 miles on it when I bought it. The underside of the hood and truck are also discolored, maybe not as noticeable. I do understand the paining processes but never saw such a big (ugly) difference. The "fisheyes" are definitely imperfections under the paint due to poor prep.

It's BS that an auto manufacturer can repair a car that was damaged in transit and sell it as NEW with no disclosure of such occurrence. The dealer certainly doesn't give a customer the same courtesy at trade-in if your car was repaired during ownership...
