Had axnew 22 CE , , new 23 premium and now a new 25 PP - I dont believe i sat in anything without leather- so - the PP and Sig were slightly different - but on the front - cant say -not a issue for me -and i am 6'0 - ?
Well here it is - 2026 -based on many early shots - and some literature from Japan - Mazda got a new " in house "hybrid drive system- but Toyota must have had much to do with it - so if your into that - seats must be redesigned too ?
Also Toyota Mazda are collaborating on a sports car - using Mazda straight-6 turbo - which Mazda says they may offer in 4 door - interesting times here at Mazda - Had a GLC - way way back and Mazda was the status equivilant of say Subaru in early 70s - long way from the "GLC" or Glick as we called it - but it was rather indestructable - rolled it in a ditch and drove home after ? Great Little Car !

I'm with the majority here in that seat comfort is more about the person than the seat. They target the widest cross-section of their target market and make a seat the engineers and bean counters agree on. If you buy the car and immediately start complaining about seat comfort that makes me wonder about your agenda. Its not the car or seat at fault you just seem uninformed in your buying.

I find my 2025 CX-5 Premier Plus seats really comfortable and supportive. I never experience body fatigue on an extended drive. There are all the adjustments one could hope for - back of seat bottom up, seat bottom up, recline, forward, backward, lumbar. I am not sure what most owners prefer for seating position but I'm 6'1 and I tend to sit high and forward with a slight seat back recline. I despise getting into a rental where the seat is all the way back and seat back is 30 degrees reclined!

The 2022 was the year they first made changes to the current generation CX-5 seats. Source: https://news.mazdausa.com/vehicles-2..._34137_157-119
Complementing the elegant design, the driving dynamics and ride quality of the 2022 CX-5 have evolved with updates to the seats, body, and suspension that were introduced in Mazda's recent vehicles. The seats are redesigned to help provide the driver and the vehicle's occupants with greater stability to help create a natural and comfortable experience.
The seats in my 2025 Premium Plus are exactly the same as my 2022 Preferred. The only difference is the Premium Plus has ventilated but it doesn't change the seat feel at all. They are a bit firm at first and give a little over the next 3 months but never become sink in soft which is a good thing to me. Both are the leather trimmed seat. Not the leatherette of the "select" nor the nappa-leather trim of the "signature".

So many renditions of the new 2026 CX-5...It's difficult to see what the car will actually look like. I do like this design shown above, as the changes are subtle. I've read it will be about 4+ inches longer, hybrid addition, while maintaining the 4 cylinder N/A and 4 cylinder Turbo... 8 speed CVT transmission for the hybrid and hopefully keeping the 6 speed for the N/A and Turbo engines. Wondering if waiting would be a viable option for a possible seat redesign?

She’s happier now and I like it, too. Thinking of getting another one.

How well did the RaoTanDang fit the seat? Seems like it might be a bit large....I have a 2020 Signature.....Thank you!

We don’t find the RaoTanDang seat cushions too large. They fit neatly on our front seats (2022 PP). I originally bought one for my 5’4” wife who found the seats a bit uncomfortable, especially with the firm ride. I liked it so much that I got a second one for myself (6'1’’, 190). They don’t affect the seat heating. How long they will last remains to be seen. But they’re not that expensive.

I should have stopped reading this thread. I would not have given my seats a second thought, but all of the microanalysis here has made me realize that my 2025 seats are not particularly comfortable auto seats.
My gripe is the shape/function of the seatback. Even with the lower back support dialed to maximum, I feel that the center of the seatback is not very supportive. I sit upright, so I can imagine it is worse for someone who leans back.
Secondarily, the seatback is narrow and does not give good lateral support–the kind of support a driver's car should have.
I will stop reading this thread now and try to love my CX-5.
