Default 2023 CX-5 dash lights

Is it just my car or do all CX-5s have brightness problems with dash lights. When driving at night, the dash lights are either too bright or too dim. No middle ground. Starting from too bright, as I adjust it dimmer, it first goes too dim, and then gets dimmer until off. Very strange, my 2018 mazda3 works fine. I’ve never seen this problem on a vehicle before. I keep thinking I’m missing something, but there’s just the one adjustment dial on the left side of the gauges, as far as I can tell.

I don't have an issue on my 2020 but then I have the dash lights in auto-mode.

I 100% agree it’s too bright at night or too dark and adjusting it manually doesn’t help either.

It's the same way on my 2021. I have auto mode on and leave it dimmed one notch from full brightness and live with it. I could write a book on all the oddities of this car; like having to unlock all the doors to open the liftgate, a remote-start that kills the engine if you open the door, an automatic climate control that starts the fan at a relatively high speed with a dead-cold engine in freezing temperatures, Ok, maybe not a book but certainly a pamphlet.
