Hi, all! We just got our 2021 Mazda CX-5. I swap out brakelights on our cars to ones that blink when you step on the brake, as with all the texting and driving, I've found the blink wakes people up. I looked over the manual on how to replace the brake light bulb, but when I pulled the cap off there is no bulb visible inside, just circuitry. The directional light bulb was easy enough to get to (not changing that :-)) Wondering if anyone has better instructions than the manual on how to swap out the brake light bulb on a 2021 Mazda CX-5. Thank you!!!

 

Sorry to break it to you, but you can’t. The info is in your owner’s manual.

If you had the lower end Sport or Touring model you would able to do it but the GT and up cars have permanent LED's. The only bulbs you can change are the turn signals.

 

I don't know if this would work on the CX-5. YMMV. I installed a flasher module on the third brake light on my BMW. It was a simple in line splice and works with LED bulbs. I picked it from kahtec*com
