Question 2021 GT Blind spot monitors

Has anyone had a problem with blind spot monitors lighting up and beeping randomly when it there's nothing there?

I started noticing it this summer but figured it had something to do with the bike rack attached to my trailer hitch. Now that my biking season is over and I've taken the rack off but today I noticed it lighting up again.

I wouldn't call it a problem, but I have had it detect walls and guard rails on the passenger side of the vehicle at times while driving past them. Mazda said that it's not supposed to do that, but it does.

Seems like it's happening on both sides. I made an appointment for them to take a look at it next week. If there's something wrong they can fix it and if that's just how it is well I guess I'll deal with it. I would assume it'll be covered under warranty.

I would try reboot . disconnect the battery over night and plug it back in the next day. you will feel rough ideal for a couple of miles until it reprograms the fuel mixture. and you
will loose all your settings. or you could just take it in. its still in guarantee free of charge. MHO

So I took the car in this morning to have it looked at. They just called to tell me there was a technical service bulletin about cold weather starts and the blind spot monitoring system activating. They took the sensors off and sure enough they fell into the range of ones that could have problems so they replaced them. We'll see if that fixes the problem!

(I also wondered if something got jostled when I had my trailer hitch installed, but maybe that's unrelated.)
