What now you want to talk about windshield breakage. OMFG!!! really and its not even a Mazda. I am on my 3rd windshield have 54k miles and it is a 2018. Buit at least I am a realist and know what caused all the breakage.
Oh this is a MAZDA forum you do realize that so we like to talk about MAZDAs in a thread relating to MAZDAs. LOL BTW look into aero dynamic and aerodynamic theory and precibal. It may help you to understand some windshield breakage? Maybe not now that I see what and how you post?
That great but you are missing the other graph to compare the real world values. If this is how you in life you have a lot to learn about the internet, advertising and well politics. LOL..

If you post a graph like that then you need to also show the graph of the number of production vehicles manufactured during the same period with sunroof..... OPS DUH I guess when you go and look that number is actually statistically speaking very very very small.

Next statistical studies starts after the Flat earth believers clear the room

Think Mazda will warranty it for me?? I mean according to some there is a defect or lower quality auto glass installed in my Mazda. ROLMAO..

I hate break it to you most have no clue even some auto glass companies that there are many degrees of quality in glass. As long as they meet the OE specification and safety standard certification that's all they know.

As for credentials well that we know is a humorous joke but I still like reading when you post it.

At times my colleges and friends over the decades , my marketer and many automotive industry business owners and part developers I often talk to often ask why bother on forums they don't and some have more credentials, certification and hands on decades of experience and education then myself in the engineering and auto mechanical field of study.
This first paragraph is what makes me wonder about the validity of your claimed credentials. That is such a bizarre lack of understanding it calls into question everything you write. As I previously wrote, tempered glass is the reason it shatters. Tempered glass is made to shatter. Windshields use laminated glass so they don't shatter with impact. Most cars use tempered side and rear windows because they don't take impact. Windshields use laminated because they face forward. The sunroof in the CX-5 also faces forward since it is angled. Had they used laminated glass it would chip and crack but never shatter as people experience.

look it’s obvious by now what you don’t know, and at this point just trying to get attention. Lol

The facts are simple , none has confirmed the limited numbers of sun room glass what caused the breakage.

now how old are you, 40 going on 3 lol. 😂

when it happens to u and your Mazda let’s see what gets done about it from a warranty standpoint of defective. Please post up your actual documents naturally with your personal information blacked out. I seriously doubt we will ever see it. So fractals u can continue your useless figure pointing at the auto manufacturers and it being a glass or frame defect .

As far as my credentials , maybe someday you may if you work real hard be lucky and get at least one close to a few of mine.

Most people never ever clean their sunroof/moonroof.
I do so at least twice per year paying special attention to cleaning the track, making sure the drains are clear and the gaskets in good shape.
That includes lubricating and applying rubber conditioner to gaskets as needed.
This is required for optimal use and safe operation and failure to do so can and does impact the ability of the roof to function properly.
I believe impacts and failure to maintain the condition of the sunroof/moonroof is what causes these "explosions" and it is not defective materials.
Nothing has been proven otherwise and my mind will not change until such time it is.
