I’m the owner of a new 2021 CX-5 Touring. I got the package that adds leather, power lift gate, etc. But no heated mirrors! It’s a joke. But I thought maybe the wiring harness is already in place to accept the heated mirrors if I just replace the glass. Anyone have experience with the 2021?

 

Hi, just bought same model, and did not want to pay the extra $4k to get heated mirrors! Were you able to find out any information about adding this after you purchased the car? I think the two biggest questions I still have is 1) is the wiring there 2) will the Defrost button control them 3) would this be a DIY job or a dealer job?

1- Maybe, my gut feeling says wiring is not there.
2- Yes
3- Dealer won't touch it, you may ask them.
DYI job ?, depends in your abilities, if wiring isn't there you need to run 1 wire per mirror from the Fuse Block, remove mirror glass and reinstall new one, I'm attaching wiring diagram and procedures.
Left mirror TK71-69-1G7 Right mirror TK71-69-1G1 for CX5 GT2020 model. This year parts are not available online yet.

 

Thank you for your reply. The documents are helpful if I end up doing this myself. I will let you know what I find out from the dealer. I will only attempt to pull these mirrors off if I can verify wiring, and if they will sell these 2021 OEM mirrors set up for heat and blind spot warning light. It certainly would be a nice add and hoping they might be under $100 each!
