Question 2020 CX-5 "moaning" noise from center dash area.

Hey folks!

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if so what worked to fix it.

Issue: At seemingly random times there is a "moaning" noise that comes from the center section of the dash, lower down. The sound is similar to when you pull a straw through a plastic drink lid and it makes the "clown horn" noise. Like a shaft or rod passing through a rubber gasket or bellows of some sort.

I suspect it is an issue with the blender door in the HVAC ducts. It happens when sitting at idle, it happens while driving, it happens after the ignition is off, just random times. It has gotten worse with the Florida heat.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I recommend to do a HVAC system cleaning

It is a simple DIY service that anyone can do.

Then after you do that see if the noise returns. If it does at least you will have a good smelling sanitized HVAC system!

One example of a good product

Thanks mate! I will give it a shot!

Would you recommend to go through the drain or through the vents?

You use the cleaner at the blower motor on the output side. The drain is under the carpet and easy to reach which is more or less to see the cleaner doing its job and not really anything else.

I use this product, but it is a bit more cost then one I posted earlier.
