We have three Mazda CX5 , 19,23 and 25

I have an iphone 15

My iphone and carplay work fine on the 2023 and 2025 vehicles

For some reason in the 2019 Cx5 the the carplay is dark

My wife has a iphone 15 and the carplay works on her phone in the 2019 CX5
The 2019 can see my phone in terms of contacts, text etc

I have tried disconnecting my phone and re aparing but i get the same result ( no carplay)

I have tried all the simple things, but nothing has worked

I would appreciate any help or insights this group has

For the short the 2019 is now my car

Be patient we have a few members that will and have some information for your questions. They just come on at various times and not always everyday.

 

You have more going on than I can assess.
The 2019 Apple Car play is wired only and requires a

• iPhone 5 and later models are compatible with Apple CarPlay.
• Ensure that the iPhone is running iOS 7.1

If your wife's phone is connecting wirelessly your vehicle has had some type of aftermarket install. (they all vary as to what iphone and models can be used)
If you connect with the proper cable (Apple lighting) your phone should work provided the aftermarket install hasn't overridden the cable input.

I was not clear. After I noticed that Carplay did not work on my iphone , my wife plugged the same USB cable I was using into her Iphone and
Carplay. was active . We both have Iphone 15 with the lastest software

Check the settings in the car itself for devices previously connected for carplay. Your phone could just be set to not turn on carplay when plugged in. You can toggle it to turn on every time from there.
