Default 2018 CX5 GT, change auto door locking setting

New to this forum; just bought the car, and all doors auto lock when parked; manual shows option 1 to disable this, but it does not take when I go through the steps (push interior driver door lock button once, etc). Advice appreciated!

The Owner's Manual should have both the table of various lock settings along with the procedure to alter those settings. The procedure should be right there immediately following the table of lock settings.

2018 Mazda CX-5 Owner's Manual @ MazdaUSA

Refer to pp 3-17 to 3-18 for description of the various settings, along with the procedure for setting your choice.

Also refer to p 9-11 to 9-16 for Personalization Settings. In there, under the Vehicle portion of controls, find the choices for Door Locks. Alter the values to how you want them. I've got a 2016.5 CX-5 GT, and the Door Locks controls are right there in the on-screen Settings area, Vehicle sub-section. Can control the door locks, lighting and a number of other things. It's worth rooting around in there to get familiar with the different controls you have.

That is very helpful, thanks! The setting was called Walk Away Lock, and it’s in the car’s files, so easy to change, once you know where to look.
