2017 Needs new rear differential.
Bought my 2017 CX-5 Grand Touring AWD, new in April of 2017.
Started noticing a roaring noise coming from rear a few days ago. I assumed it was a wheel bearing. Took to dealer and they're saying the rear differential is bad. $2500 to replace.
Had rear differential serviced at 45k (Mazda recommends at 60k)and I'm currently at 67k. I have taken such good care of this car, I'm profoundly disappointed.
Dealership is contacting Mazda for some type of goodwill.
Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated.

There is no advise at this point it seems your dealership is working with you and Mazda for some kind of equitable resolve.
WARAARTY periods are set for a reason, and we all hate when the day hour and minute they expire something goes wrong. Murphy's Law.
Best advise wait and see what your dealership says. You still have an option to go directly to MAZDA USA. But I would let your dealership first see what they will do for you.

I just got a used 2017 cx5 and carfax info stated the differential had been replaced at about same mileage for what its worth. It has close to 70,000 miles. I was happy to see it had been replaced. Not that a know much about the make n model yet as far as any real problems they gave. Just figured 1 less thing for me to have to worry about. Sorry to hear that. Boy car problems are the worst. 2500 to me n my family is a dam fortune. I do hope they help you out in some way. Good luck to you!

A used car you always take a chance. I always recommend that before you buy have the car completely inspected by your choice of service shop you know and trust. Carfax and other reporting institution only have the information that was reported from the VIN . Even if you purchased a used vehicle, you can still have it inspected to make sure there are no hidden problems that may have been overlooked. Independent service shops call that a 100-point inspection. I would source a shop that has an ASE sign on their building, and you can also look for the employee ASE certification that are generally hung in the main office for customers to see.
Seems very reasonable of Mazda.
This is good end compromise dealing with the differential.
To many owners jump to the conclusion to quickly that they will not get taken care of by the dealership and the auto manufacture. It takes a bit of patients and going through all the steps before throwing in the towel and getting negative.
