2017 CX-5 Firmware Update Trouble
Hello! Just joined here, I apologize if this isn't the right section to post this.
Just bought a 2017 CX-5 last week, and have been trying to do the firmware update from 59.00.446 to 70.00.100A in preparation for the Carplay USB hub I ordered. Found the two files: reinstall & failsafe, and put them onto a USB formatted to FAT32 (As well as verified the hash values).
I have been following the manufacturer instructions, but I ran into some trouble installing the failsafe file. I got the error: Install Unsuccessful; System Updates will not be available; Failed to execute the update operation. After that, it looks like the Failsafe version is no longer available. Wouldn't be the smartest thing to continue without a failsafe version, any way I can fix this? It looks like the previous owner had Android Auto installed, but I am not sure if that affects anything. Should I try to install the 70.00.335 Version instead? Thanks for any replies!
