Very creative! The 'standard' way would probably be to use a crow's foot extension on the torque wrench, with torque adjusted accordingly. But as you've shown, there's more than one way to get that job done.

No need to drive yourself crazy trying to get the pump apart gracefully. Just finding out that it was seized is quite a bit more than we knew previously. If you're able to do it, and find out something else, then that would be a plus. But no problem or disappointment whatsoever if that can't be done.
