Default Brake: pad and disk question

Hi,
I have a CX5 2014 and it is time to change the brake.

1) what is the original pad? ceramic or semi-metalic?

I'm looking at buy some and we were ok with the original pad in term of braking capacity and dust.

So if someone have the answer, it will be very appreciated.

Thanks

I'm sure it's semi-metallic. If you were happy with the OE pads, I suggest you stick with them as replacements. That way you'll know what you're getting. Mazda pads aren't cheap, but you can get them at a discount on line from various dealers.

thanks a lot for the fast answer.

we are at 90000km with the original pad and rotor !!!!

I will probably not shop at the mazda dealer but on the internet and I understand the the quality of some internet pad/rotor will not match the mazda dealer quality but hey, I don't mind to change them after 50000km. I do it myself and I have fun doing it !!!

Mazda is known for choosing good pads for their cars. Many Miata owners stick with OE pads for replacement. I did on two that I owned. Why replace the rotors? If they're not badly scored, just have them turned for half the price of new.
