10 years 7 CX-5's !
I recently bought a 2022 CX-5 Pr+ and my wife still has her 1990 Miata that she bought in August 1989. She absolutely loves her Miata (no winter driving) but she doesn’t like the CX-5. I thought its handling would win her over but she just finds it too “bumpy” on anything but totally smooth surfaces. I know what she means (the CarCareNut who greatly admires the CX-5 made the same complaint). I'm wondering if switching to 17” wheels would smooth our relationship.

It's interesting that your wife likes the 1990 Miata ride , which I expect would feel every small pothole or bump in the road, but about 20 years ago I stopped trying to understand how women think.
2015 white GT (Pearl) drove for 6 years and traded for a 2021 black GT PP (Lady) drove for 3 years and traded for a 2025 black PP (Jet)
2015 red GT (Red) drove for 3 years and traded for a 2018 red GT (Cherry) drove for 2 years and traded for a 2021 red GT (Jan) drove for 3 years and traded for a 2024 red Select (Lori)
The above seven CX-5's have been driven and, or shared by my wife, son, and myself. At any given time, we have had two CX-5's within my family. We average about 15K miles per year and trade-in after 2-3 years. Currently my wife and I share the 2024 Select and our 23-year-old son has a 2025 PP. My wife and I also share a 2019 Miata. Mazda makes greats cars!

Update: 10 years... 8 CX-5's and 2 Miata's
This past May we traded my wife's 2019 Miata Club for a 2025 Miata GT.
Today I traded the 2023 CX-5 Select for a 2025 CX-5 Preferred.;

I like to think so, but here in my SF Bay Area there are approximately a dozen Mazda dealers, so achieving a reasonably fair trade deal for the popular CX-5 model is easy to do.
For example, on any given day dealers typically have at their store 50 CX-5's but only 2 or 3 Miatas.
On a side note, I don't know if Mazda is continuing the Mazda 3 model. It may be that for the USA market 2026 model year Mazda moves forward with the CX-30, CX-50, CX-5, CX-70, CX-90, and Miata.
