I have a 2021 CX-30 and recently have been hearing a loud scrapping from underneath the car. When I was finally able to get a good view, I noticed a large plastic piece hanging down from the car. It is right by the passenger side wheel and appears to have 2 holes where it would be drilled/bolted in.

Anyway, because of my work schedule, it is super hard to get to the mechanic. I want to get an idea of what exactly is hanging down for the mechanic, so I can have this dealt with in one trip and quickly. Does anyone know what piece this might be?

 

Picture would help. It's possible you ran over something that got stuck under there.

As you can see, it looks to most definitely be a part of the car. I also think if it wasn't a piece connected to the car, it would have already fallen off (during my commute I drive about 76mph).

 

Yea, looks like a warranty issue to me.

 

Looks like the cover for the oil filter and oil drain for the engine. Has the car had an oil change recently?
