Hi, I am in the U.K. looking at buying a mazda cx30 hybrid. However I have a few worries about the hybrid battery. Mazda does not give any information here in the U.K. on how long or short the life expectancy of the hybrid battery is. Honda will warranty their hybrid battery 5 years from new. Toyota up to 10 years. But there is nothing on mazda bar the new cars normal warranty period. Extended warranty is expensive here at over £600 pa.
Am I right to worry about the hybrid battery. After all the motoring industry as of late got so much wrong in the hurry to meet CO2 targets. Are these mild hybrids just ok for a few years from new and dead ducks after their warranty runs out.

Just three years from new.

 

That's poor, Australia has 5yrs.

 

The U.K. is a total rip off these days. Car manufacturers just see it as a place to take the **** out of. Just like our own useless government
