Engine heat cycle
2021 CX30 Skyactive G 2.5l non turbo
Can anyone tell me what this engine is doing through a full heat cycle. I mean started cold and run to full operating temperature. I think it starts with spark plugs and then switches over to compression ignition at some point. When started cold it roars (1500rpm)for while then slows down. Sounds different than any other car I’ve owned. Not bad just different.
When the engine is started even slightly warn it goes to slow idle. Most engines would go to a high idle for a few seconds to bring up oil pressure.
Thanks for reading,
Always been a nerd, can’t help myself.

My new car does same thing since we brought it a few months ago. My wife and i both noticed it many times. The manual, read cover to cover, and it will tell you its normal!
So just forget it send drive. Yes, I am a car nut also and do all.my own work and seldomly ever set foot in a dealership. Just make sure on ALL turbos, let the engine run for 10 -25 seconds before turning of hot engine. This pumps oil thru turbo and stops COKING effect, ie allows oil to cool turbo a bit so oil does not burn into a piece of coke/coal.like formation inside turbo. Use synthetic oil, always.
