Default 2023 CX-30 GPS USB Card

Hello this is my 1st post and I have owned my 2023 Mazda since June of 2023 (1month}
I wanted a GPS and Mazda has them for $450 plus Install another $60 ($510}
Well I bought one on Ebay for $38 and put the USB card into the USB in the glove box and turned on the CX-30
and a few mins later the Maps showed up.
I am told TomTom makes them and know that they have been around awhile or as long as Garmin has be around.
Seems like this is a no brainer to have for its price........JT

This is the way. I also bought mine on E-Bay after I got my 2020 CX-30. You can still use the Mazda app to update the maps.

Folks,
This is obviously kind of personal preferences but I still didn’t find any advantage on usage of GPS from USB card vs. online app like Google Map, Apple Map or Waze.
My choice is Waze. Using online app one would not only have 'live' map but also real traffic status
While I have 3 months old car and obviously latest data on USB card I am using it very rare

My previous Mazda (3) came with the GPS card but CarPlay was a very expensive option which I did not get, so I got used to using it. My CX-30 came with CarPlay but GPS was optional. The annoyance with using CarPlay based maps is having to remember to take my phone out of my pocket and plugging it in. I plug in when the battery is low or it's a long trip but otherwise I listen to music & podcasts over Bluetooth. I like the GPS display and guidance, one button access, and its integration with the heads-up display. The low cost of the E-Bay purchased card made it easy to add as an option. I wish Mazda supported CarPlay over Bluetooth like other cars I've rented on trips.

I have installed 2 Ebay USB GPS Cards into 2 2023 Mazda CX-30s last week.
The 1st one works great
as for the second one the map did freeze for a few mins until I pulled into
a parking space and played around with it and then all was fine.
I keep a Cheap phone in my car incase I get stuck but will use it when I go on a trip with iHeart Radio.
As for the Map it seems that it was up to date since it found a New Bagel store in my area that was opened
in late 2022.....JT
