What I am seeking to do is to prevent bluetooth from working at the hardware level. I do not want any bluetooth capability in my 2019 Mazda CX-3. or Wifi for that matter. How do I get this thing out of my vehicle? I believe I see it behind the glove compartment. and there is a grey wire I am tempted to just pull out in frustration. I've called 3 Mazda dealers and one car radio place, they said they couldn't help me.

 

Can't be done, there isn't a separate module, It's built-in CMU, Go to Mazda Connect Settings--> Devices and un-ticked Bluetooth.
WIFI is not enabled in North America.

Why would not the same apply in this case? I'm also ok not having a radio and I already do not have GPS navigation. Can the entire CMU be unplugged or removed, but leave the car functional?

 

It's a different generation, previous models before Mazda Connect use a separate Bluetooth module. You have an infotainment system and everything is integrated in one computer except Tuner and Amp in a module located behind glove box.
Well, it's possible to disconnect CMU but you'll be losing important messages from your car system, maintenance schedule and all audio.
What's your issue? do what I suggest before, un-ticked Bluetooth in Devices menu and disable it.
Bluetooth problems can be resolved by updating your present firmware, PM user ASH8, don't know if he visit this forum but he's in Mazda 24/7 and Mazda3revolution, tell him your region and current firmware Settings--> About --> Version. Read instructions carefully.

 

Thanks so much! Perhaps my issue can be resolved with a firmware update. I am concerned about the security of bluetooth. Without getting into details, I have a personal ongoing situation regarding technology security (computer/mobile phone etc) and believe this has now extended to my car. I wanted to permanently disable bluetooth. Doing it through the infotainment system is not working for me. I have to redo it every time I get into my car. I will find ASH8 on here. I appreciate your direction.
