Default Flashing key symbol

The key symbol has started flashing red when the driver or front passenger gets out of the car then gets back in. Eg to open a gate. Stops when stopping and restarting the vehicle. Is there an easy fix or does this require a mechanic? Car is out of warranty.

Default Try PCM update

There are PCM's Mazda saves for particular things. I've seen that key flashing on my car and it now just received a PCM update after electrically locking up altogether. Maybe get your oil changed at a dealer next time and ask them to look up whether there's a PCM that addresses your key flashing issue. These aren't delivered in the general updates they might do on our cars. Mazda has told dealers to only use them when the specific issue arises.

The flashing key indicates the BCM has lost contact with the key fob.
Where in the vehicle do you place they key fob when driving? or do you keep it in your pocket?
When did you last change the key fob battery?
