Default security plug

I have an 89 B2200 that has a red plug in at the bottom of the dash.it's supposed to be some sort of security device. Are those replaceable or is there a way to get rid of it. The truck usually won't start unless you wiggle it.

Sounds aftermarket, owner-added.

Got some photos?

Default Security

Thanks for the idea that it wasn't a factory installation, Cusser. I had never seen the inside of another truck and just assumed it came that way. I pulled the shroud from around the steering column, pulled the harness up, and found that the previous owner just tapped into an ignition wire. I removed the whole thing, reattached the wires, and everything is good now! Thanks again!
