Is this a factory modular audio system? If so where are you posting from? 03 Mpv in US with OE system does not have a lockable audio system with codes that can be input or required to unlock that I am aware of. Mazda stopped using coded audio in the mid 90's.

Europe market must use different audio system that US. I do not have any radio unlock codes for this year because we do not have locked systems here. Older models (not MPV ) had unlock codes for dealer only use but we do no have these in US in later models. Sorry could not be of more help.

thanks anyway babyhuey. i have looked on a miata website, which we dont have in europe. a player that i have seen there looks identical apatrt from the fact it is a cassette rather than a cd player. dont know if that would tie in with anything you have seen. its all black plastic with 6 memory buttons at the bottom

Finally got an 03 in shop. Sending picture of our audio unit. The number in upper right corner is 1168. These are called modular audio unit because you can add accessories onto the base unit. Base unit is standard am/fm with 18 presets. Usually come standard with single cd in upper area but can change to a six disc in dash for extra money. Can also add either a cassette or minidisc into bottom section. Your units may be different but I find it very hard to believe that a manufacturer would make a radio that becomes a boat anchor if you accidently forget you code. Older model Mazdas had radios with 4 digit locking codes that you could activate but a master unlock code was available to the dealer in case was locked up. Try checking around a bit and maybe even contact Mazda France and see what they say.
