Mazda BT 50 & Pickup Trucks While Mazda may not be known for their trucks, they have always produced quality reliable trucks for both hauling cargo, or simply crusing. BT 50

Default Seat

The bolster on the seat cushion was torn and some foam inside was wrecked. I rolled up a micro fiber rag and snaked it through the torn fabric to build it back up. Then I put this stick on patch material I got on Amazon. I trimmed it to follow the edge of the piping. It’s stuck on the really good, really sticky backing so we’ll see if it lasts. Not a perfect color match but definitely an improvement over being torn and crushed.

I also put 1/4” plywood between the springs and cushion underneath and it restored the normal cushion height when seated. The 1/4 plywood flexes just enough to move with the springs but also spread the weight evenly and the cushion no longer sags excessively when I sit

Super cheap stuff for huge improvement?

Very nice! These Mazda truck seats are most always in need of repair after 30+ years in service. I had a local upholstery shop redo my bench seat a few years ago and it is holding up great! Here are some pics of it.....it is not the exact color and pattern of the original upholstery, but it looks great! I paid them $600.00 cash to do the work......I removed the seat and took it to them, then I installed it afterwards as well.

Man that looks fantastic! If you don’t mind sharing, how much did it cost?

I had a local upholstery shop re-do the front bucket seats in my '88 B2200 Cab Plus in the 1990s. Close to the original pattern. The jump seats were fine and left alone; my kids sat in those.

I paid $600.00 cash.......as posted above. They bolstered the original foam by repairing the worn area, and adding another layer of foam on the whole seat bottom. It definitely feels much better than before, when I had a throw cushion on the driver's side of the seat!
