My b2600i year 1992 motor does not run
Hi. I have asked this already before but the problem persists. Motor starts normally but shuts down after 20-30 secs. Then you have to wait for few minutes and you can repeat the same procedure. It sounds so that when the motor returns normally to lower revs it shuts down. Spark is there, fuel filter has been changed, fuel pressure ok etc. Any experience about the same? Please comment. No more deeper knowhow about these cars here in Finland.
ECU was the problem. It did not work. The ECU was serviced and 'fixed" in three workshops and all of them assured after service that it has been fixed and works and the bills were paid.
Then we succeeded in finding an ECU which worked. After changing that to the car all started to work and the motor run perfectly.
The learning of this long lasting story is that never believe an ECUexpert if he/she tells you that all is ok.

ECU caps would be my guess. I've got the same truck and I feel like it's getting close to needing to replace them. You may be able to open the ecu and see bulging caps. 30+ years is solid performance for electrolytics.
please explain what you call an ECU cap is? I ask because using it in all capitol letters does not mean what I think you think it does?
On the fuel-injected Mazda B2200 & the B2600i trucks, the 2 original Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors on the Engine Control Unit circuit board, have been known to leak acid and then etch the circuit board and eventually eat through the copper traces that are part of the fuel injector firing circuits......and that will lead to an erratic idle, hesitation when depressing the throttle, and sometimes flooding.
I joined in 2009. It was probably mazdabscene or mazdatruckin and this site conglomerated them. But thanks. E(ngine or lectronic)C(ontrol)U(unit). The cap clue is in the electrolytic. As for my comprehension. I've owned 5 RX-7's(4 FB's and an FC). I bridge-ported and built a 12a. I bought my B to swap a 13B-PP into. I do apologize for the caps.

Great ! My AC still works good, and is still on R-12.
As Cusser said, I used a different Username back then and I have never started a different one, for some reason......just kept it going. I spent most of my time on Mazdatruckin or Bscene back in the day. Glad that you still have your truck!!
