ECU delete?

Default ECU delete?

Hey all! So I have recently started building my mini truck project ‘91 b2200 5speed m/t SE-5 that I’ve wanted since I was 16 years old. I Purchased a weber carburetor and I’m at the point of installation. I haven’t found very many videos on exactly what can be deleted and what needs to be kept as far as wiring. I know since it’s gonna be carbureted there’s not a whole lot of needs that’s why, I was wondering if I can completely delete the ECU or are there any wires running to it or coming from it that I need to keep anywhere in the engine bay? If anybody’s got any suggestions or an answer it would be much obliged!

I didn't cut such wires when I installed my Weber 32/36 DGEV, I just coiled them up and taped them all out of the way on passenger firewall. And left the ECU in place, why not, why bother to remove it.

95 is the actually OBDII prior was OBDI which really barely ran the ignition. I would likely just do what Cusser just post as the ECU and all the wire input and out put are not needed for your project.

The ECU for his '91 B2200 runs the carburetor only. No OBD at all back then.

OP, yes you can remove it completely, but if you ever want to go back to a stock Nikki carburetor, you've increased your workload exponentially. I would do what Cusser suggests and tuck it out of the way.

The Lizard King you should re-read what I posted.... it was generalized having to do with information about On Board Diagnostic(OBD) for vehicles.

And the advise what to do was in line with what induction system he is choosing to use replacing the OEM.

While I would never say 100% I do not think MAZDA ever had an engine with a "carburetor" was offered with a computer controlling the air /fuel mixture in the 90's or older years to the general public? Maybe they experimented with it like many auto makers of the time? IKD. I am not a MAZDA Historian!
