Mazda BT 50 & Pickup TrucksWhile Mazda may not be known for their trucks, they have always produced quality reliable trucks for both hauling cargo, or simply crusing. BT 50
Mazda Brakes B3000 1999 Duo-Servo brakes, I assume? Unable to place new drum on new rear shoes. I’ve discovered that there should be a front primary shoe and a secondary back shoe on each wheel. I think I installed them backwards. However, the pin that holds the e-brake cable is attached to the primary shoe which is now on the secondary (back) position. Is this assumption correct? Can I remove and replace the pin and install it on the on the secondary shoe once I flip them correctly? So I then have a larger front primary shoe and a smaller secondary back shoe? Photos are of the passenger’s side of vehicle.
Instead of removing the pin.......are the shoes swapped and are on the wrong side of the truck? You may have the right on the left, and vise versa.
lot of conflicting info out on the internet. on ranger and mazda trucks, the primary or longer shoe goes in the back. The shorter shoe goes in the front. So, we should be mounted correctly. I getting the drums spec next week to see if they are correct. thanks for you're comment.
Also make sure you have the auto adjuster seated properly and it is adjusted to its absolute shortest length. Also, if the e brake cable is not releasing fully it can hold the shoes open a bit making it difficult to get the drum on.
